Obituary of Ann S. Costello
It’s incredibly difficult to sum up the impact Ann Costello had on the lives of those around her. For 98 years she was teaching lessons, through the way she lived her life. She lived with grace, class, positivity and love. She will always be a part of the many people she touched.
Our beloved, Ann Costello, 98, of Yonkers NY, passed away peacefully in her sleep, on August 23rd, 2025 after a long and fulfilled life. Ann was born on July 20th, 1927 to Victoria & Matthew DiRodio. Ann began working at Costello Brothers Oil Company, as a bookkeeper where she met her late husband Cosimo Costello. Ann & Cosimo got married on April 16th, 1950, resided at 183 Roundhill Drive and went on to have six children, Anthony, Richard, Ann, Nicky, Cindy and Lisa who they built many memories with.
In 1977, Ann, Cosimo and their son Anthony formed Bel-Ann Fuel, which successfully grew into a multi-million dollar oil company. After the loss of both her husband and her son, Ann successfully grew and ran the company as the sole-owner. Ann was an honest, strong and brilliant businesswoman, who, to no surprise, impacted her customers, colleagues and employees long after she retired. Ann retired in 2002 and lived a financially successful life until her very last day.
Ann’s 6 children went on to have beautiful grandchildren, which resulted in 21 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren, who were able to build memories at the same 183 Roundhill Drive her and Cosimo built many years ago.
Ann leaves behind a piece of herself in her 3 surviving children, her 21 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. All of which are feeling an irreplaceable piece of their hearts missing, broken and forever changed by her legacy.
Ann impacted every person she interacted with just by the way she lived her life. She was graceful, classy, strong, compassionate, generous and positive. Ann was accomplished and she endured her fair share of grief. She lived her life to the fullest, despite the challenges and loss she faced. She got through her grief with such positivity constantly saying “I lost a lot but i also am blessed with so much” That is how we will learn to live without her, because we lost her but we also were blessed with her wisdom, and her love, she has taught us all how to get through this unbearable loss of her.

Ann was a consistent donor of St. Jude Children's Hospital. Her last check made was to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations will be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Ann’s memory.
