Her educational journey culminated in 1982, with a Masters in Education from Long Island University, an achievement she was very proud of. In 1956, she married Ismael Gonzalez where together they raised their children in Yonkers, New York. Annie, along with her sister, Cristina, ran the first Latina owned beauty salon in Yonkers on Palisade Avenue. She was also the co-founder of the Puerto Rican Community Council along with her sister in law, Carmen Gonzalez. In the late 1980s, Annie became a New York State Parole Officer in the Bronx, which she enjoyed until her retirement. Annie enjoyed music, dancing, traveling, flowers, arts and crafts, taking drives with father, her partner in crime, and anything with sequins and crochet knitting. She had a love of shopping and never met a lipstick or pair of shoes she didn't love. She was the backbone of her family and will be missed by all that knew her.
