Dorthea (Dory) Wangenstein (nee Borowitz) of Hastings-on-Hudson NY, passed away on April 7, 2010 after a long and valiant battle with cancer. She was born on December 3, 1944 in Hastings to the late William and Martha Borowitz. Dory graduated from Hastings High School and the Woods Secretarial School in New York City. She worked for Parents' Magazine, and for the past 30 years for IBM in their legal department. She leaves behind her loving brother Bill Borowitz (Annette), of Hastings, her nephew and godson, Jim Borowitz (Linda) of Middletown, CT and their sons, Mark, Nicholas and Matthew (her godson), her niece Christine Harrington (Stephen) of Hellertown, PA and their daughter Kyra and many cousins. Outside of work, Dory enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, going to the casinos, watching cooking shows and old movies on TV and shopping with her friends. Friends may call at the Hastings Funeral Home, 15 Spring St., Hastings-on-Hudson, NY on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Mass at St. Matthew Church on Monday at 10 AM. Interment Mt Hope Cemetery.
