Obituary of David A. Horrach

Please share a memory of David to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
DAVID ABELARDO HORRACH David was born November 1, 1989. His name was given to him by his grandmother Carmen Berrios before she passed. Rachel's mother Carmen Berrios always loved the name David and to please her mother, Rachel named her first born David. His middle name Abelardo was given to him in memory of his grandfather Rev. Abelardo Berrios, Founder of the Latin American Council of NY. David was raised in a Pentecostal church and his first few years at church played the drums. While growing up David had many friends. He was always very sociable and friendly with everyone that came in contact with him. He was a family man. He believed greatly in family and loved to be surrounded by his siblings. He loved to cook and he was so good at it. He loved basketball as he was growing up, loved nature and long rides and had a special love for dogs. As he got older he had a passion for football and always watched the Super Bowl. He liked music and comedy and his favorite holiday was Christmas. In his early years David met his wife, Christina Emlet through his brother Joseph Horrach. The two met and began a relationship. Christina Emlet was his childhood sweetheart and he loved Christina with all his heart. They married and were married for 15 years. It was one of the happiest days of his life to have married her. On December 12, 2007 his first born David Horrach Jr. was born. David loved his son and spoke many times to his mom about how proud he was of his son's accomplishments in school as he grew up. On December 1, 2013 his second child was born. He named her Genesis and told her it was the name of the first book in the Bible. Genesis, being the girl was his princess. He enjoyed his kids and enjoyed doing activities with them. He loved his kids and they were important to him. David spent as much time possible with his kids. David was very close to his mom Rachel. He spent many times on the phone with her at all hours of the day and night seeking advice about many things or simply just to call and laugh. He always knew how to make his mom laugh. David and Rachel were not only mother and son but best friends. They shared a very special bond. Rachel loves both her children David and Joseph. If anyone really knew who David was they would say he was the life of the party. Wherever he was wherever he went he brought laughter and joy with his jokes. He was caring, warm, friendly, sociable, helpful, kind and there is so much we can say. We will forever remember him because he left an impact in the lives of those who really knew him personally. At the end of his days he received one of the best news ever. His brother Joseph who lived in Florida for three years was returning back to New York to live. It was one of the most exciting news ever for him because he loved his brother and wanted to see him and spend time with him and his family. We are so glad he was able to do this. David worked for the Department of Transportation in Yonkers. His coworkers were his second family. He loved his job and his friends that worked with him. David is survived by his wife, Christina, his kids David Jr. and Genesis, his brother Joseph, his father Daniel, his mother Rachel, his stepdad Santos Roman, his aunts Judy Cintron, Ruth Berrios, Rev. Bernice Berrios, his cousins, Jessica, Carmen, Nancy, and Kaitlin, his in-laws Roy and Celeste, his brother in law Daniel, his sister in law Melissa and a loving spiritual family at the church "Casa de Dios" who prayed for him always. He will forever remain in our hearts!!!!
